About Us

This site is moderated by a group of people who are interested in building a market for the trade of locally grown and prepared foods in greater Boston. They are all volunteers and you can read more about them here.

Jake splits his time, unequally, thinking about food and rocks and has been able to go through life without cooking the same thing twice because of a strong aversion to following or remembering recipes. Originally from the rural Midwest, he takes special joy in preparing smoked meats from his favorite meat CSA. He is also very interested in the current state of farming in the US and advocating for change in urban food systems. He lives in Arlington with his spouse and two cats, one of which likes to eat butter.

Jody is a long-time Somerville resident and has a degree in geology from Tufts University. Her interest is the intersection of environmental science and sustainable food systems, particularly in an urban setting. She’s an avid home-brewer and culinary experimenter with almost three decades of experience eating food. In her spare time she enjoys co-parenting her pitbull, Mulder, and sipping Fernet in East Somerville.
